Flachsschwingstock

A painted German distaff or Flachsschwingstock used during the spinning of flax.

On both sides decorated with a compass-drawn hex. On top are resting two small birds, the owner's name, A. Barbara Steinbrecher, is painted on the front under three tulips. 

First half of the 19th century. 108 x 32 x 19.5 cm.
