Misbaksel

An early 1500's spinkruikje, a small earthenware vessel that was used by hand-spinners to keep their fingers slightly moist or oily while spinning wool or flax. This example is a so called 'misbaksel', a faulty example, in this case it fell over in the kiln before being fired.
