A collection of painted rocks from the towns at the coast of Brittany and Normandy, France.
These rocks where taken of the pebbled beaches of France and painted by local artists of varying skill who then sold them to tourists.
Three are annotated:
A rectangular stone from Brest which features a fishing boat.
A view from a beach signed 'Prouville, 1860'.
A sailing ship, date 16 August 1890 and monogrammed.
Varying dimensions, between 12 x 9 and 5 x 4 cm.
Oil on rocks.
